The Ballad of Calamity is described by Jena as "California Americana Rock with a 70's hangover". It also is an autobiography. All of Jena's songs weave in and out of a lifetime of experiences, from her days as the keyboard player for an all women's group Called "Wet Paint" to her work as a cocktail waitress in a country/western bar. Written from the heart, Jena outlines her life in music. Each song on this CD takes on an additional dimension with sound scapes recorded in Jena's home town of Santa Barbara, California.
